PMI Wins HIRE Vets Medallion Award
PMI was honored for our exemplary efforts in recruiting, employing, and retaining veterans by receiving the Gold Medallion Award. As a Service-Disabled, Veteran-Owned Small Business we have always been dedicated to providing employment for our nation’s veterans wherever possible. In 2017 President Trump signed into law the HIRE Vets Act and the Medallion is the only federal award recognizing exceptional achievement in veteran employment. Our award letter stated, “By meeting the criteria required for a Gold Medallion Award, Phoenix Management, Inc. demonstrated both patriotism and recognition of the value veterans bring to the workplace.”

Montana Full Maintenance Services
The cleaning crew at our GSA maintenance contract in Butte, MT received these words of praise from the Commander, Butte MEPS for their exceptional work in cleaning the U.S. Military Entrance Processing Station at the Federal Building/US Courthouse in Butte: “I just wanted to pass along my thanks to your cleaning crew for our space. Last week we had some med techs and a doctor visiting from other MEPS and all of them made a point to note how clean our space as compared to other MEPS that they have been in. Kudos to Dennis and his whole team for keeping our space clean. Thank you for all you and your team do to keep us running.” First impressions count – well done, Team!

Westover ARB, MA – Base Operations & Support Services
In a joint construction project between PMI, Marines, Air Force and a Navy corpsman (who provided first aid coverage) the team cleared about 2 acres of trees and brush adding a connex observation bunker, and built new roads (from pieces of the recycled runway) at the explosive ordinance disposal proficiency training range. This project was undertaken to clear the area and allow for safe observation and control of the detonation range, according to the Base Civil Engineer. The range is utilized to train Air and Army National Guard units and law enforcement agencies like the FBI, ATF, Massachusetts and Connecticut State Police, as well as others. This project was also a great opportunity to train Reservists and provide them with hands-on experience using heavy equipment. Well done to the PMI Roads & Grounds crew.

Homestead ARB, FL – Base Operations & Support Services
When PMI’s Project Manager congratulated the 482d Fighter Wing Commander on his promotion to Brigadier General, the Brig Gen had this to say: “I hope you guys take some time in celebrating this because it wouldn’t have happened without you! I’m convinced I have the best base ops support team working to keep this base going. The bottom line, you guys are killing it every day. Thanks again.” Kudos to the PMI Team at Homestead for keeping true to our motto: “Commitment to Excellence”.

Vermont – Land Ports of Entry
The PMI Team at our Vermont LPOE contract received these words of thanks from the COR for the great job they are doing at this remote contract: “I am grateful for all that PMI has done to date … I am happy with the commitment your crew has made to make improvements and develop professionally. PMI has surely gained my trust and confidence! Heartfelt thank you to all!” High praise and well deserved!

Robins AFB, GA – Vehicle Maintenance
The PMI Team made the news at Robins for their installation of removable plexiglass walls to installation buses to provide a hygiene barrier to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus and protect drivers and passengers. The project began when they installed rear seats and a plexiglass wall to two multi-stop trucks. The 78 LRS leadership asked them to address the issue of passenger/driver safety for buses. Each bus is different and they have leased vehicles so no permanent mounting could be installed, so the solution had to be removable. PMI’s Metal Mechanic devised a fake wall that could be installed to protect the driver from the passengers and a custom-build barrier was created for each bus. Consequently, the drivers no
longer required a 14-day quarantine and are able to stay on the job and focused on the mission. PMI’s Project Manager had this to say: “Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, PMI and the 78th LRS looked for ways to safeguard our people as they continued to provide their mission-essential jobs. In my opinion, the most valuable asset we have on this installation is the people.” Well said, and well done!
